Well, I figured it out. Every time, I examined where I was going wrong, I looked at weekdays. I blamed my weekend issues on Beth coming home. I assumed the problem was temporary. I was wrong.
Counting calories is a pain, so I've been estimating … and my calculations have been crap. Saturday morning I fixed oatmeal. I like oatmeal. The fact that it's healthy is just a bonus. I looked at the amount in the bowl and thought”oh yeah, I need to measure and add today.” Turns out my serving size is 2 or even 3 times bigger than it should be. The same goes for the creamer in my coffee and more. So I started cutting back. Just the act of writing it down, kept me in line.
Saturday: 1500 calories
- Oatmeal and diet brown sugar ... 175
- 2 mugs of coffee with creamer ... 150
- Fresca and grapefruit juice ... 50
- 6 chicken nuggets ... 300
- 4 ounces of roast pork ... 300
- Yam ... 150
- Peas ... 50
- Rye crisp ... 100
- Cookies .. 200
- Pudding cup ... 100
- Hot cocoa ... 25
Sunday was similar.
